IFA Redfish Tours Events at Ruskin, Florida, Postponed Due to Hurricane Irma
Florida declares state of emergency
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. XX, 2017) – The upcoming IFA Redfish Tour events set for September 9-10 at Ruskin, Florida, have been postponed indefinitely. Florida Governor Rick Scott declared a state of emergency due to the expectancy of Hurricane Irma. The powerful hurricane has been upgraded to category 5 and is set to potentially make landfall on the U.S. this weekend.
“While we don’t know for certain what areas will be affected yet, we feel it is necessary to postpone the events indefinitely,” said IFA Tournament Director Eric Shelby. “Our thoughts and prayers are with those in the path of Irma.”
Anglers can keep up to date of any possible rescheduling by visiting the IFA’s website, signing up for the newsletter or following IFA social media outlets. Anglers with any questions about qualifying for the championship or Team of the Year points can call the IFA at (478) 836-4266.
Continuing to draw inshore anglers from Texas to the Carolinas, both IFA Tours include five different divisions, each with a two-event regular season. With budget-friendly entry fees, both tours offer opportunities to compete close to home while keeping anglers’ expenses to a minimum.
